iWAT2014 AUTHOR and PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit papers written in English that are 2-4 pages in length for review. Only original papers that have not been published earlier or submitted for publication elsewhere will be considered. The minimum acceptable paper length is 2 pages. All papers must be formatted in two-column IEEE format (single spaced and 10-point font for text) including figures. The conference maintains the right to refrain from reviewing papers that are longer than 4 pages. All figures, tables, references, etc. are included within the page limit. Papers must be submitted in Portable Document Format (PDF) format. Authors MUST submit their papers electronically for review using EDAS via http://edas.info/N14997

During the initial paper submission process via EDAS, the authors are required to ensure that both the submitted PDF file and EDAS registration page of their paper have the same list of authors and the same paper title. Be certain to add all authors in EDAS during the submission process. Failure to comply with this guideline may result in your paper being withdrawn from the review process. Once reviewed, the listing of authors connected to the paper can NOT be changed in the final manuscript. For your submission you can use the standard IEEE conference templates for Microsoft Word or LaTeX formats found at:

http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html

The submission process involves the following steps:

    • Creation of a personal account on EDAS (if the author does not already have one).
    • Selection of a topic at the time of submission from the list provided that is the most relevant to your submitted paper. The conference technical programme committee reserves the right to move a submitted paper to a topic that may be more appropriate.
    • Upload of the paper in PDF format.
    • Check that there are no printing errors.
    • All papers will undergo the same peer-review process. Once the paper is accepted, the authors must upload the final version of the paper taking into consideration any review comments.
    • At least one of the authors must register prior to uploading the publication-ready final version of the accepted paper.
    • With one full registration, two papers can be presented. However, only one paper will be allowed with each student registration.

The conference will have invited and contributory papers. The invited papers will be presented during oral sessions whereas all the contributory papers will be presented during interactive sessions using posters. Papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings as well as in IEEE Xplore.

INVITED SPEAKERS

The invited speakers have the option of submitting a formal 2-4 page paper in IEEE format or a one (1) page summary, and both will undergo the peer review process. Only the 2-4 page papers will be published.

AWARDS

There will be two best student paper awards. Papers eligible for the award must have no more than three (3) authors and the student must be the first author.

There will be one best paper award for the whole conference excluding invited talks.

IEEE POLICIES

“IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., by not including it in IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.”

Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (double submission). These matters are taken very seriously and IEEE will take action against any author who has engaged in either practice.
